In-Session Approach
During therapy sessions, Celeigh works collaboratively with clients to develop primary and secondary goals for treatment and to find the right therapeutic approaches for meeting each individual’s needs. These co-created goals guide and direct the therapeutic sessions but are able to be modified and re-prioritized as needed! Clients will be welcomed into an inviting, non-judgmental space where they will explore how past events, present dynamics, and future hopes may be impacting their lives with an open, authentic, and caring therapist.
Safe Space & Land Acknowledgement
Maythorn Counselling is committed to providing a safe & affirming space for individuals from all socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds, genders, races, and sexualities. My practice is rooted in anti-oppressive, anti-racist, and equity-focused philosophies that acknowledge the historical barriers, challenges, and prejudices that continue to contribute to systemic inequity and discrimination in our communities. I am committed to continuing to expand my educational and professional development on how systemic discrimination impacts my clients and creates complex challenges to improving their lives and healing from past traumas.
I respectfully acknowledge that I live and work as a guest and a descendant of settlers on the unceded and unsurrendered homeland of the Wolastoqiyik and M’ikMaw Peoples. I am committed to Piluwitahasuwawsuwakon (action towards Truth & Reconciliation) as I learn and grow from the rich cultural knowledge, educational and familial principles, language and practices of Indigenous Peoples.
